    Today from 5:30 -7:30                                Youth Group

         Youth in grades 6-12, including those moving up into 6th grade, are welcome.  Youth meet every other week.

 

    Sunday, June 7 during Worship                 Graduate Recognition

         We will celebrate our 2020 graduates next Sunday, June 7.  If a  member of your family has graduated from high school, college, or another post-high school program, please inform Pastor Scott by Monday to have their name included.  Thank you.

 

 

Lisa Fox and Stephanie Dunlap are looking at a cookbook fundraiser.  If you have recipes that you would be willing to share as part of this project, please email them to Lisa (foxyL3rdbase@aol.com), Stephanie (swalt14@gmail.com), or snail mail them to the church.  Please include your name with all recipes.  If you would be interested in helping with the cookbook, please see Lisa or Stephanie.

You are encouraged to show love to shut-ins by means of a card, phone call, or whatever else God lays upon your heart.

Please take some time this week to reach out to the shut-in members of our church and community, especially those in nursing homes or who are otherwise unable to receive visitors, by means of a card or a phone call (Marion Wakefield, Verla Mae Mack, Heidi Glessner, Marge Pardee, Elly Prigmore, Gerri Toth, June Henderson).

 

 
 
 

Our Ministerium has committed to pray for one another.  Each week, every church lifts up one congregation in prayer.   This week's prayer covenant church is the New Florence United Methodist Church, and their pastor, Rev. Sharon Hamley. Please keep their church in your prayers throughout this coming week.

DISTRICT & CONFERENCE NEWS   
 
In 2019 the United Methodist Foundation of Western Pennsylvania launched a Laity Leadership Academy designed to empower laity to lead the connection in the ever-changing landscape of congregational life.  The next session of the Laity Academy will commence in the late summer or early fall of 2020.  To enroll, contact the Dean of the Academy, Rev. Joe Patterson at jpatterson@umfoundation.org.

Summer Camp 2020-  Summer camp registration is online now for the three resident camps and the wilderness canoe trip.  Links to all the summer camp events can be found through the Conference website at wpaumc.org/camping.  Seward UMC will help children and youth from our church and community with the cost of summer camp through camperships.  Talk to Pastor Scott for more information.
